TULSA, Okla. –– It was another extremely hot day on the Tulsa campus as the Golden Hurricane football team went through a 140-minute practice with 100-degree temperature from start to the finish. The heat index started at 112 when the Hurricane hit the field and topped out at 114 heat index at the end.
Despite the heat, Tulsa head coach Philip Montgomery was pleased with today's practice.
"Prep is going good. We were better today. It was another hot day., but I thought we handled it much better. With a change in schedule, day 2 is always better. I felt good about that and how our guys came out and got some good work done," said Montgomery.
"As we continue to build the game plan, I want to see our guys execute it at a high level and have a lot of confidence in what we're doing," Montgomery added.
The Hurricane will be back on the practice field through Friday.
Tulsa kicks off the season next Friday night, August 30, against the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing, Michigan. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 pm CT and will be televised on FS1.
