TULSA, Okla. –– The generosity of TU Golden Hurricane fans through the #ForOurCity Fund initiative has provided over 1,700 meals for healthcare workers on the front lines of fighting the COVID-19 Pandemic

The University of Tulsa athletic department, using the FEVO platform, and restaurant partner Raising Cane's have teamed up to provide meals for the hometown heroes helping to combat the coronavirus. TU fans stepped up in a big way by donating more than $10,000 totaling  1,776 meals.

For every $6 donation, Raising Cane's provided a meal for medical personnel at Saint Francis Health System, while also donating one free kid's meal to The Children's Hospital at Saint Francis.

"We are always looking for ways to engage our community and our fan base. With the #ForOurCity Fund initiative, we felt that during this unprecedented time it was more important than ever to involve our fans to help feed the medical professionals who are putting themselves on the line to keep us safe against COVID-19. As we have come to expect from our fans and the city of Tulsa, the response was overwhelming, with more than $10,000 raised and 1,776 meals donated," said Dr. Derrick Gragg, Vice President and Director of Athletics

Raising Cane's continues to deliver meals to the Saint Francis Health System main campus and will be adding deliveries to Saint Francis Hospital South and Saint Francis Hospital Glenpool over the next two weeks.
