Tulsa men's soccer player Alex Meinhard was named the College Soccer News National Player of the Week, as announced today by the publication.  He also was tabbed to the CSN National Team of the Week.

Meinhard scored four goals in Tulsa's 5-0 win over Memphis on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.  He opened the scoring for the Golden Hurricane when his shot found its way into the back of the net after deflecting off a Memphis defender.  His first goal was set up by a cross from freshman forward Tom Protzek.

Meinhard added his second score of the match when he used his touch on the ball and quickness to evade several defenders to secure the angle he needed to send a ball into the back of the frame from 16 yards out.  He also converted two penalty kicks in the second half.

Meinhard earned the 16th hat trick in school history and the first since Harris Partain had one against Oral Roberts in 2019.  With his fourth goal he became the fourth player in school history to score four goals in a single game and first since Frank Velez hit that mark in 1991.

Meinhard is TU's second College Soccer News National Player of the Week as Ashley McInnes picked up the same honor on Sept. 13, 2010.  He is also the 25th CSN National Team of the Week honoree, including Malik Henry-Scott (Sept. 6) and Til Zinnhardt (Sept. 13) who earned the same honor earlier this season.
