Tulsa’s Brin Named Honorable Mention for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Weekly Award

TYLER, Texas –– The University of Tulsa quarterback Davis Brin was chosen as an honorable mention selection for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week Award, it was announced today by the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler.
Davis Brin from Boerne Champion High School in San Antonio, Texas, completed 18-of-30 passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns in Tulsa's 44-10 victory last Saturday over the Temple Owls.
The 6'2" junior threw touchdown passes of eight and 21 yards. He also had his first rushing touchdown of the season, a one-yard run in the third quarter to put the Hurricane ahead 34-3.
The award recognizes those football student-athletes meeting one of the following criteria: born in Texas and /or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college of four-year Division I Texas college.
Named after 1977 Heisman Trophy-winning running back Earl Campbell, the award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.
