Tulsa Men Finish 2-3-4, Klopfer Places Third for the Women at OSU Winter Open

MEN'S RESULTS I WOMEN'S RESULTS
STILLWATER, Okla. –– In a preview of the national championship course at the OSU Course on Tuesday, the Tulsa men and women faced NCAA host and No.6-ranked Oklahoma State in a dual. OSU claimed a 28-29 win over the No. 4-ranked Tulsa men, while the 22nd-ranked Cowgirls won by a count of 18-37.
No.7-ranked Iowa State also ran four individuals in the men's race.
For the men, Tulsa's Patrick Dever (23:58.9), Scott Beattie (24:10.1) and Peter Lynch (24:13.4) finished second thru fourth place to pace the Hurricane in the 8K race. The other scoring points for Tulsa came from Isaac Akers in eighth place with a time of 24:31.8 and freshman Shay McEvoy in 17th place.
The women were paced by senior Caitlin Klopfer's third-place performance with a 6K time of 21:55.4. The OSU women took 5 of the first 6 spot, while Tulsa then took the next six spots, finishing from seventh to 12th place.
The NCAA Championship will take place on this same course on March 15. The Tulsa men have secured a spot, while the women will wait to see if they qualify.
