MORGAN AND DELCE WIN AWARDS

•  Outfielder Haley Morgan and pitcher/designated player Chenise Delce both were selected for American Athletic Conference weekly awards, leading the Hurricane 4-1 record in the OSU/TU Tournament.

• The Hurricane center fielder was named AAC Player of the Week after being consistent from the plate during the weekend recording 7 hits in 13 at bats for a .538 batting average.

• Morgan scored 6 runs during the weekend and drove in 3 runners... her attempted steal was successful and defensively she was perfect during the weekend with a 1.000 fielding percentage. 

• Delce made three appearances with two starts, recording a 2-1 record ... had an 1.98 earned run average in 13.2 innings of work, striking out 21 batters in the process.

THE OSU/TU TOURNAMENT

• Tulsa went 4-1 during the OSU/TU Tournament, sweeping all four home games before falling to Oklahoma State in the Sunday matchup..

• The Hurricane started the weekend strong picking up two wins over New Mexico ... in the first game of the double-header Kylie Norwood led TU to a 7-0 victory putting in a career-high 5 hits in the contest ... during the second game, Sara Llamas-Howell picked up her 1st career save slamming the door on the Lobos giving Tulsa the 3-2 victory..

• Against Omaha the Hurricane bats came alive as a three-run home run by Alexis Perry helped TU to a 9-4 victory ... Tajiah Ellison shined in the second game driving in a career-high 5 runs helping Tulsa to a 11-3 victory in 6 innings.

• Tulsa fought hard in the tournament finale against the Cowgirls but came up short dropping the game 7-0

A LOOK AHEAD - JAYHAWK INVITATIONAL

• The Hurricane will continue its non-conference slate this weekend, March 19-21, in the Jayhawk Invitational hosted by the Kansas.

• Tulsa will take on the host school Jayhawks once during the weekend, battling Kansas on Friday at 3:00 p.m. ... the Jayhawks are 11-8 on the season losing their last contest 3-0 to Northern Iowa.

• The Hurricane will take on South Dakota twice with the first game being Friday at 12:30 p.m. and the second being Saturday at 10:00 a.m. ... South Dakota is 4-15 on the season losing their last 8 contests.

• TU will close out the tournament facing North Dakota State in consecutive games on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ... the Bison are 4-11 on the season with their biggest win coming against Texas Tech, 5-4 in 8 innings.
