Tulsa’s Kody Pearson Falls Against No. 3 Seed in NCAA Singles Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. –– Making his first appearance at the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championship, Tulsa's Kody Pearson fell on Sunday afternoon to the No. 3-seeded Hady Habib of Texas A&M at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
 
Habib, ranked No. 3 nationally, took a straight set 6-2, 6-1 win over the Hurricane junior in the round of 64.
 
Pearson, ranked 50th in the ITA rankings, finished the season with an overall 13-9 record. Habib moves onto the round of 32 with a 19-5 mark.
 
Pearson's appearance at the NCAA Championship was the 28th time that a Tulsa player had been selected for the NCAA singles championship.
 
On the women's side, the doubles tandem of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner will play Virginia's team of Sofia Munera and Natasha Subhash in the doubles round of 32 on Monday. Time is TBA.
