TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team practiced in helmets and shoulder pads for the third straight day with a two-hour workout on Harwell Field Wednesday morning

"It's the first time all camp that we've done a three-day span in pads. Our guys reacted well to it today. We were able to get good work in," said Montgomery "We came out and it was cool, but it burned off pretty quick and warmed up with high humidity. We need those hot days to continue to keep working and getting ready for the season."

"I like to see us continuing to take strides. You're going in every day, correcting and putting things in and seeing how they focus on that. But you want to see them taking things from the meeting room and applying it to the field. We've done a pretty good job of that," added Montgomery.

Coach Monty talked about making improvement each day.

"It's been a big emphasis for our coaching staff and senior leaders this camp to stack good days together, putting good days on top of good days and never taking a step back. It's been about keeping the intensity level where it needs to be and competing to get better individually and making each other better," Montgomery said.

Tulsa will be off Thursday and return to the practice field Friday morning.
