
Tulsa Women’s Soccer Team Travels to Central Arkansas and Hosts Kansas City This Week

The Tulsa women's soccer team returns to action this week, taking on Central Arkansas in Conway beginning at 7:00 pm Central on Thursday, September 2, as well as hosting Kansas City at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium beginning at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 5.
For the Tulsa-Kansas City game, tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com/tickets or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688.
Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on ESPN+. TU fans can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball games. After a tough opening weekend with 3-0 losses to both Pittsburgh and UTSA, the Golden Hurricane bounced back and captured a 1-0 win over Creighton and then tied Missouri State, 2-2 (2OT) in Week 2. Liliana Fernandez, Jadyn Chee and Isold Runarsdottir have each scored a goal for TU. Emma Malsy has logged all 380 minutes between the posts, picked up 21 saves for a 0.724 saves percentage and allowed eight goals for a 1.89 goals-against average.
The Sugar Bears have a 1-3 mark on the season, snapping a three-game losing streak including Arizona State (6-1), Grand Canyon (5-0) and Louisiana-Monroe (1-0), with a 2-0 win over Little Rock in their last contest. The Tulsa game will be the first home game for UCA, while it will be the first true road contest for the Golden Hurricane.
Emma Hawkins has recorded two goals, while Kelly Van Gundy has one score for UCA. Kasja Pruner and Keyla Perez have spit time equally in goal on the season, and have a combined 25 saves for a 0.676 saves percentage and allowed 12 goals for a 3.0 goals-against average.
Tulsa has a 3-1 lead in the all-time series over UCA, including a 2-1 win in the last meeting in 2016 in Conway.
Kansas City has a 2-2 overall record, but will take on Oklahoma on Friday before making the trip to Tulsa. Kassi Ginther has a team-best three goals, while three others have one score. Natasha Richardson and Mackenzie Caldwell have combined for 18 saves for a 0.667 saves percentage and allowed nine goals for a 2.25 GAA.
Tulsa has a 2-1 lead in the all-time series over Kansas City, but it was the Roos that captured a 2-1 win in the last meeting in 2019.
