The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Cincinnati on Thursday night at Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Golden Hurricane fell to 4-4-1 on the season and 0-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Bearcats moved to 5-3-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.
"For a lot of our players this was their first conference game and it took a while to settle into the game, but once we did we played hard," Head Coach Jim Rhein said. "Cincinnati is a tough team to play and they are really physical. Selma Vidgren came in after Georgia Vernardakis was injured and she really stepped up and played hard. Raegan Beeding, Madison Tokarchik and Mia Darden also played well tonight."
Vanessa DiNardo scored the lone goal of the contest at the 28:57 mark.
Isold Runarsdottir had two shots in the contest, while Kayla Fernandez and Jadyn Chee each had one attempt. Raegan Beeding logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up 10 saves.
Cincinnati had an 18-4 lead in shots, including an 11-1 advantage in shots on goal, and 6-1 lead in corner kicks.
Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, September 19 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff beginning at 1:00 pm in Pine Bluff, Ark.
