Tulsa’s Bryson Powers Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

TULSA, Okla. –– University of Tulsa senior football student-athlete Bryson Powers earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) academic all-district accolades and in now eligible for All-American honors.
 
Powers already received his degree in mechanical engineering with a 3.7 grade point average and has a current graduate GPA of 4.0 while working on his master's degree in business. It marked the second straight season that Powers was named to the CSC all-district team.
 
A 6'0" nickel safety, Powers ranked second on the Hurricane defense this season with 99 tackles. He also added four stops for lost yardage and had three pass breakups and one forced fumble.

Powers led Tulsa in tackles in six games and had three double-digit tackle games including a career-high 13 stops against Northern Illinois.
 
Powers was also named earlier this month as a Military Bowl 3M STEM Scholar-Athlete award winner. The Military Bowl and 3M recognize some of the brightest minds playing college football in the ACC and the American Athletic Conference through the scholar-athlete program.
