Kailyn Bearpaw immediately put herself in scoring position in the fourth with a double, but Tulsa grounded out in three of the next four batters, stranding Bearpaw at third. The Islanders escaped the top of the frame and then tied the game with a solo homerun of their own with two outs in the bottom of the inning.
The Hurricane wasted little time in responding in the top of the fifth. Morgan was retired for the first time when she flew out to center. Kylie Norwood drew a walk and then stole second, which allowed her to score on Celeste Wood's single to left field to give Tulsa the 2-1 lead.
Consecutive passed balls placed Wood at third base and after Nash earned a six-pitch walk, Bearpaw singled to short, brining Wood home and advancing Callie Davis, who pinch ran for Nash, to third.
