The 2022 Tulsa women's soccer schedule features three teams that advanced to the 2021 NCAA Championship, as well as five teams that posted double-digit wins a year ago, as announced today by head coach Jim Rhein.

"We are excited to get the season started," Rhein said.  "We have a difficult schedule with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the non-conference, as well as our tough American Athletic Conference slate.  It is all part of the growth of the program, and we are looking forward to the challenge."

TU registered a 6-9-2 overall record, including a road win over Temple for the Golden Hurricane's first league road victory in nearly three years, while Madison Williams was named to the American Athletic Conference all-rookie team.

Tulsa will begin the season with a pair of road games at Mid-America Christian (Aug. 18) and at Kansas City (Aug. 21).  This will be the first meeting between TU and the Evangels, which recorded 11 wins last season, while the Golden Hurricane has a 3-1 advantage in the series over the Roos, which had six wins a year ago.

TU will host Oklahoma State (Aug. 25) in their home opener, before making the short trip to Missouri State (Aug. 28).  The Cowgirls had nine wins last season, while the Bears finished with five victories.  Tulsa owns a 13-7-3 lead in the series over MSU, while OSU has a 5-2 advantage in the series over TU.

Tulsa will play five of it's next six games at home, including Central Arkansas (Sept. 1), Oklahoma (Sept. 8), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Sept. 11), Temple (Sept. 15) and Oral Roberts (Sept. 18), while traveling to Creighton (Sept. 4).  The Sugar Bears had nine wins a year ago, while the Sooners picked up eight victories, the Bluejays seven, both the Golden Lions and Golden Eagles had six wins, and the Owls recorded five victories.  The Golden Hurricane owns the series advantage against ORU (20-4-6), CU (5-2), UCA (4-1), UABP (2-0) and Temple (4-3-1), while OU has a 11-2-1 lead in the series over Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane closes out the month of September with a pair of road games at South Florida (Sept. 22) and at East Carolina (Sept. 29).  The Bulls had 12 wins last year, won The American regular season title with a 6-1-1 league record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament First Round.  ECU had eight wins last year, but TU and the Pirates battled to a 2-2 double-overtime tie.

In October, TU will host Cincinnati (Oct. 6), UCF (Oct. 16) and SMU (Oct. 23), as well as travel to Houston (Oct. 9) and Memphis (Oct. 20).  The Tigers had 14 wins, captured The American tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round. The Mustangs also advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round while posting 12 victories, while Houston had 13 wins, UCF had eight and Cincinnati seven.

The American Athletic Conference Championship will be hosted on Oct. 30, Nov. 3 and Nov. 6 at locations to be determined.
