Jordan Frederick scored the lone goal to give the Tulsa women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Temple in the American Athletic Conference opener on Thursday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane moved to 5-3-1 on the season and 1-0 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Owls fell to 0-3-4 overall and 0-1 in the league.

"Jordan has been a handful to deal with and she's been able to create chances in the last two games, so we'll be relying on her quite a bit," Tulsa Head Coach Jim Rhein said. "Anytime you win a conference game it is a big deal, regardless of who it is, where it is and what the score ends up being. This team is continuing to grow, and they showed their character tonight in that they knew how to manage the end of the game, even under a lot of stress, and I'm really proud of the group."

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, September 18 against crosstown rival Oral Roberts beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Stadium.

How it Happened:
Jordan Frederick picked up a pass, dribbled around a defender, stopped to get a clear shot and drilled the ball from right to left from six yards out into the back of the net for the lone goal of the contest at the 15:38 mark.
