Last week, Tulsa lost its first conference game of the season at Charlotte but rebounded on Sunday to tie a strong East Carolina opponent on the road. The Hurricane overcame a deficit with two goals within a minute of each other, but a wonder strike from the Pirates in the waning seconds stole a victory from Tulsa.

UAB enters a tough week with a 5-4-5 record and have a similar 1-1-4 record in conference play. Tulsa and the Blazers enter tied for the eighth spot in The American, so it's a vital week for both teams. UAB opens with a game on the road against No. 10 Memphis on Thursday before heading to Tulsa.
The Blazers are used to low-scoring games, allowing 12 goals this season, and scoring just 14. Only four games this season with UAB have had one of the teams score multiple goals and none of the games have had both teams score multiple goals.
Carlyn Presley's three goals and six points tops the stat sheet this season. Three other Blazers have scored two goals. Avera Berryman, Hannah Clark, Graycen Elliot and Stella Lawson have all recorded two assists this season to lead the Blazers.
