Denson singled to in the third for Tulsa's first hit, but a double play erased her from the basepaths. This time, it was Tulsa's turn to rally with two outs. Abby Jones singled through the left side. She came around to score as Morgan ripped a triple down the line in right. Edwards came through with an infield single, which brought in Morgan and tied the game at 2-2.

Missouri State broke the tie an inning later. Ellie McCoy singled with one away and then stole second. The left fielder broke for third on the next pitch, arriving safely as the ball got away, allowing her to come in to give the Bears the 3-2 lead.

Tulsa managed only two hits over the final three innings and never got another runner into scoring position. The Bears added two more runs in the fifth, taking advantage of Tulsa mistakes.
