Sophomore pitcher Maura Moore selected to honor roll

TULSA, OKLA. –– The University of Tulsa softball's Claira Skaggs was named the American Athletic Conference Softball's Player of the Week, as announced today by the league office.

Skaggs recorded 10 hits on two doubles and three home runs with eight RBI while enjoying a slash line of .556/.556/1.167 last week during the TU/OSU Invitational. The sophomore first baseman helped Tulsa to a 3-2 weekend which included two walk-offs on Saturday, one of which upset the No. 23/24 Missouri Tigers. Skaggs had a multi-home run game against Maine, blasting a three-run shot in the first and walking off the Bears in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run home run.

Sophomore pitcher Maura Moore was selected to the conference honor roll for her performance over the weekend. She hurled the school's 23rd no-hitter as she blanked Tarleton State in the season's home opener. In her six innings of work, she struck out three and allowed just one base runner thanks to a walk in the fourth. The runner was erased thanks to a double play.

The Golden Hurricane return to the Collins Family Softball Complex this weekend for the Tulsa Invitational. The Hurricane will take on Northern Iowa and Sam Houston in five games starting Friday with a double header against UNI. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. and all Tulsa games will air on ESPN+.
