
Graduation Highlights End of Athletic Year for the Golden Hurricane

TULSA, Okla. –– A total of 63 senior student-athletes, eight Hurricane Ambassadors, eight spirit squad members and six Pathway to Sports Academy students crossed the stage to get their diplomas Saturday during The University of Tulsa's commencement ceremonies at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
In addition, eight Spirit Squad members and six Pathway to Sports Academy students also received their diplomas.
Graduation culminates a year that saw over 230 total student-athletes earn better than a 3.0 grade point average after the first semester with 84 posting a perfect 4.0 GPA.
A total of 14 Hurricane teams reached at least a 3.00 GPA during the fall semester. The men's tennis team's 3.73 GPA was the highest for a male sport, and a 3.67 GPA for women's track & field was the highest female sport grade point average.
On the field, the men's and women's cross country teams continued its dominance in the American Athletic Conference with league titles, the ninth straight AAC crown for the men and the fourth consecutive season for the women.
