The 2023 Tulsa women's soccer schedule features four teams that advanced to the 2022 NCAA Championship, as well as seven teams that posted double-digit wins a year ago, as announced today by Head Coach Jim Rhein.

With the new American Athletic Conference alignment for the 2023 season, the women's soccer league adds Charlotte, North Texas, Rice, UAB and UTSA.

"We're excited about the new challenges in the conference and the non-conference slate is a good mix of power five schools and mid-majors," Rhein said.

Tulsa registered a 7-7-3 overall record last season.  The Golden Hurricane returns 64 percent of its goal scoring, including leading goal scorers Madison Tokarchik and Quinn Turner who both had five goals last season, as well as 69 percent of their point production from a year ago.  TU also returns all three goalkeepers, who combined for seven clean sheets, 83 saves, a 0.814 saves percentage and a 1.12 goals-against average.

Tulsa will begin the season at Oklahoma (Aug. 17) before the home opener against Stephen F. Austin (Aug. 20) three days later.  OU earned nine wins last season, including a 1-0 victory over TU in Tulsa.  The Golden Hurricane has a 3-1-1 advantage in the series over the Jacks, but the two teams have not met since 2011.

TU travels to Texas A&M-Commerce (Aug. 24) before hosting crosstown rival Oral Roberts (Aug. 27) and closing out the month at Texas A&M (Aug. 31).  The Golden Eagles captured 10 wins last season, but it was Tulsa that claimed a 1-0 victory to take a 21-4-6 lead in the all-time series.  Both the Aggies and Lions had nine wins a year ago, but Texas A&M played in the NCAA First Round.

Tulsa will then host four of the next five games, including Missouri State (Sept. 3), UTEP (Sept. 7), UTSA (Sept. 14) and Kansas City (Sept. 17), while traveling to Central Arkansas (Sept. 10).  MSU and UTSA both tallied 12 wins and played in the NCAA First Round last season, while the Roadrunners captured the Conference USA tournament championship and the Bears finished second in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Tulsa owns a 14-7-3 lead in the all-time series with Missouri State, a 5-1 lead over Central Arkansas and a 3-1-1 advantage over Kansas City, while the series with UTEP is tied 8-8-2 and the series with UTSA is 1-1.

The Golden Hurricane will take on conference foe SMU (Sept. 21) in Dallas, before hosting Rice (Sept. 28).  The Owls won the Conference USA regular season title a year ago and finished the season with 11 wins, while the Mustangs recorded 10 wins.

Tulsa will play the first three games of October on the road, including North Texas (Oct. 5), Charlotte (Oct. 12), East Carolina (Oct. 15), before hosting the final three regular season games against Temple (Oct. 19), UAB (Oct. 22) and Memphis (Oct. 26).

The Mean Green registered 12 wins and finishing second in Conference USA last season, while Memphis had 11 wins, claimed The American tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Third Round.  UAB finished third in C-USA and tallied nine wins, while ECU had eight victories.

The American Athletic Conference Championship will be hosted on Oct. 31, Nov. 2 and Nov. 5 at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
