TULSA, Okla. –
The University of Tulsa men's and women's cross-country teams are set to begin the season with the Cowboy Preview in Stillwater, Okla. On Friday morning.

A familiar event for the Golden Hurricane, the runners will compete on the Greiner Family Cross Country Course, which hosted last season's NCAA DI National Championship. The men's 5k race will begin at 8:15 a.m., with the women's 3k to take place at 8:45.

The Golden Hurricane men enter the event tied for 21st in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason poll released earlier this week. It's the first time since 2019 the men have started the season outside the top 10. The defending Midwest Regional champions will begin the season second in the region behind Oklahoma State and in front of Iowa State.

Northern Arizona took the top spot in the first poll of the season as the Lumberjacks will look to make it four national championships in a row. Oklahoma State took runner-up last season after falling short thanks to the first tiebreaker in NCAA Championship history and will begin the season ranked second.

The Tulsa women were ranked sixth in the Midwest Region and did not appear in the rankings for the national poll. Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Northwestern, Minnesota and Bradley rank above the Hurricane in the Midwest Region.

Set to run for the men in the curtain raiser are Colton Berquist, Ben Black, Sean Korsmo, Charlie Krasnoff, Johnny Livingstone, Chris McLeod, Chanel Muir, Gian Pulido, Ian Salter and Ryan Shumaker. Representing the women in Stillwater are Alicen Ashley, Chloe Hershenow, Avery Hill, Robyn Kowalski, Katharina Pesendorfer, Tamara Reeves and Billie Rouse.
