Tulsa Runners Back in Action Friday

TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa cross country teams will be back in action after nearly a month after its opening meet at the Cowboy Preview. The Hurricane men and women will run at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational on Friday, while a second group of men will cross the state border to compete at the Arkansas' Chile Pepper Festival.
The Lakefront Invitational field includes 18 teams for the men and 24 women's teams.
The 6K women's race begins at 11:25 a.m. (CT) at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course, while the men's 8K starts at 12 p.m. (CT).
For the women, Tulsa will be represented by Alicien Ashley, Chloe Hershenow, Avery Hill, Robyn Kowalski. Katharina Pesendorfer and Tamara Reeves.
Hershenow, who won the American Athletic Conference Championship last year, leads the Tulsa women into this event, along with Pesendorfer, who placed fourth at last year's AAC Championship.
The Tulsa men, winners of 13 straight conference championships, fields a young squad this season after last year's team finished in 9th place at the NCAA Championship.
Junior Malte Propp and sophomore Luke Lambert will be the only two runners racing this weekend from that national championship team. They will be joined at the Lakefront Invitational by redshirt senior Christian Baker, sophomores Colton Berquist and Sean Korsmo, redshirt freshmen Charlie Krasnoff and Johnny Livingstone and junior Chris McLeod.
The men competing at the Chile Pepper Classic in Fayetteville, Ark., are Ben Black, Gian Pulido, Carson Royse and Iain Salter.
