Golden Hurricane Men Take Sixth at Lakefront Invitational

Chicago, Ill. – The University of Tulsa cross country teams competed at the 44th Annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational Friday morning at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf course, with the men placing sixth and the women 14th.
Chris McLeod paced the Golden Hurricane men, finishing the men's 8k in a 24:02.4 time to take 16th place.
Charlie Krasnoff and Christian Baker secured top-30 placements, finishing 23rd and 29th on Friday. Krasnoff recorded a 24:08.7 time, while Baker crossed the finish line in 24:12.7.
Rounding out the five scorers were Johnny Livingstone, who placed 39th in 24:22.7, and Sean Korsmo, placing 56th in 24:36.9. Malte Propp finished immediately after Korsmo in 24:37.0 to take 57th.
Chloe Hershenow led the Tulsa women, placing 57th overall in the women's 6k with a 21:03.0 finish time. All five Tulsa runners finished within one minute of each other on Friday.
Katharina Pesendorfer navigated the course in 21:22.3 to place 76th. Alicen Ashley secured 87th with a 21:33.9 finish. Robyn Kowalski completed her run in 21:45.4, which was good for 100th, and Avery Hill's 21:57.8 time helped her finish 106th.
A few Tulsa men will compete at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. this evening. The Golden Hurricane cross country teams will race again on Oct. 13 at the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisc. The prestigious Nuttycombe will serve as the final run before The American Championships.
