PEORIA, Ill. & MADISON, Wis. — The 2024 cross country regular season has come to a close as the Golden Hurricane women's and men's teams got some good looks at the Bradley Pink Classic and Wisconsin Pre-Nationals this weekend ahead of the American Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Wichita, Kan.

The TU women took part in the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday and finished the 6K course at the Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Ill., seventh of 32 total teams. Pacing the women's fourth top-10 team finish of the season was Robyn Kowalski from The Woodlands, Texas. The senior set a new 6K personal-best of 20:37.16 for 12th overall. Redshirt seniors Ailey Mitchell (21:00.95) and Chloe Hershenow (21:04.81) placed 25th and 28th, respectively, junior Alicen Ashley (21:34.64) took 67th and redshirt sophomore McKenna Terrell finished 81st in 21:46.79.

Many of the top programs in the country competed in the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals in Madison Saturday. The Tulsa men would finish 19th as a group, beating out No. 13 Washington, No. 14 Michigan, No. 27 Florida State, No. 28 Air Force and No. 29 Texas. Once again, redshirt senior Chris McLeod was the Hurricane's first finisher at 23:40.4 for 66th place. His teammates Jaden Forester (23:47.5), a redshirt senior, and Charlie Krasnoff (23:48.5), a redshirt sophomore, placed back-to-back at 90 and 91, respectively. Redshirt freshman Ben Brown took 121st in 24:04.6, and redshirt freshman James Knockton rounded out the TU top-five in 24:06.5 for 125th.

"We had another really solid day while still not being at our best," Head Men's Coach Taylor Gulley said. "James [Knockton] fell five seconds into the race and never panicked and worked his way through. Jaden [Forester] really stepped up and helped us out. We think we got some at-Large points and know all eyes turn towards AAC Championships in two weeks. We'll certainly improve over the next two weeks and want to keep that momentum building."
