Tulsa Teams Look to Continue American Cross Country Dominance

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa cross country teams are prepared to meet the standard Friday afternoon in Wichita, Kan., as the Golden Hurricane men seek their 11th-consecutive American Athletic Conference cross country title and the TU women look to capture their seventh AAC championship. The full meet will stream on ESPN+.
The women's 6K will kick off the meet at the L.W. Clapp Memorial Park at 4:05 p.m. Central with the men's 8K race at 4:50 p.m.
A victory Friday would make the men conference champions for 15 consecutive years dating back to the university's time Conference USA and would make for the Hurricane men's 17th overall conference title.
Winners of four of the last five American Cross Country Championships, the TU women seek their 10th league title in program history.
Representing the women for Tulsa will be Alicen Ashley, two-time all-conference runner and 2022 AAC Women's Runner of the Year Chloe Hershenow, 2023 all-conference harrier Robyn Kowalski, Matilda Laidlaw, Amy Morefield, Ailey Mitchell, Sophia McNerney, Mckenna Terrell and Sarah Hosey.
For the men's roster on Friday will feature Luke Birdseye, Ben Brown, Jaden Forester, 2022 AAC Men's Freshman of the Year and all-conference recipient Luke Lambert, James Knockton, 2023 AAC Men's Freshman of the Year and all-conference athlete Charlie Krasnoff, Sean Korsmo, cross country All-American and two-time all-conference performer Shay McEvoy, all-conference runner Chris McLeod and Oisin Spillane.
