
Imani Edwards Named The American Player of the Week

TULSA, Okla. – After leading the Tulsa offense in its three-game sweep of UAB over the weekend, senior shortstop Imani Edwards was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Edwards recorded a .600 batting average, .600 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage over the three games. She collected two hits in each game with a double on Thursday and two-run homer in the first inning of Friday's 3-1 win. The Tomball, Texas native also came around to score five runs and had a stolen base on her only attempt.
This season, Edwards has lifted her batting average to .402, which is second on the team behind MacKenzie Denson. She leads the team with 23 RBI and 27 runs scored, and she has recorded three doubles, three triples and three home runs.
The Golden Hurricane returns to action Wednesday as Tulsa hosts Missouri State in the Collins Family Softball Complex. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. as TU looks to extend its winning streak to four games. Tulsa will then travel to Wichita, Kan. to face the Shockers in a weekend series.
