Anderson Pitches No-Hitter in 8-0 Win Over UTSA

Tulsa, Okla. – Anneca Anderson pitched a no-hitter five-inning game on Saturday afternoon as Tulsa earned an 8-0 win over UTSA at the Collins Family Softball Complex.
TU moved to 29-18 overall and 14-9 in American Athletic Conference action, while the Roadrunners fell to 13-39 on the season and 3-20 in league play. The Golden Hurricane now owns a 13-7 lead in the all-time series with the Roadrunners.
Tulsa scored five runs in the second inning, two in the third and one in the fourth for the eight runs needed for a run-rule.
Imani Edwards, MacKenzie Denson and Claira Skaggs each had one hit in the contest, while six players scored in the game including Abby Jones, Kailyn Bearpaw, Haley Morgan, Celeste Wood, Danielle Burns and Edwards.
Anderson had 79 pitches, including 44 strikes, six strikeouts and two walks in 16 batters faced.

In the second inning, UTSA's Reagan Smith walked Jones and Bearpaw, hit Wood and then after striking out Cole, walked Burns, which scored Jones. Edwards hit a single to right field for two RBIs, but then two more scored on an error, putting the Golden Hurricane up 5-0 at the end of the second inning.
The Roadrunners made a pitching change in the third inning, with Schultz coming to the plate. She walked two and Jones got on base on a fielder's choice, before leaving the game after just a third inning pitched. Iliana Saucedo entered the circle for UTSA and two wild pitches later Jones crossed home for the second time in two innings. Bearpaw scored TU's seventh run moments later as Cole reached on a fielder's choice.
Morgan walked, then stole second before Skaggs sent one up the middle, scoring Morgan for the lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
