Three Tulsa Women Named to AAC Women’s Soccer Watch List

IRVING, Texas — Hannah Chance, Jordan Frederick and Kaylyn Simmons were named to the American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Watch List, announced Tuesday by the league. The Golden Hurricane women's soccer team was also ranked seventh in the preseason coaches' poll.
Three players from each program were selected for this year's watch list. Last year's American Championship winner Memphis was picked to repeat as the conference champion in 2024.
Chance, a forward from Broken Arrow, Okla., comes home to Tulsa after spending the previous three years at Oklahoma State. As a redshirt sophomore a year ago, she netted seven goals off 40 total shots, 20 of which were on goal. The former Cowgirl helped record eight shutouts and was named the Big 12 Player of the Week on Aug. 30 following two goals scored against Florida Atlantic and a hat trick against Little Rock three days later.
2023 first team all-conference selection Jordan Frederick returns to Tulsa for her junior season. The forward from Bixby, Okla., started in 13 of 19 games last year. As TU's top scorer last season, Frederick had five goals and six assists for 16 points, the eighth-highest point total in The American. She found the net more times than any other Tulsa player, recording 18 shots on goal, including the game-winner against Rice in a 2-1 decision for the Hurricane.
A sophomore forward from Norman, Okla., Simmons will look to build on her outstanding freshman season that earned her second team all-conference and all-rookie honors last season. In 15 games, Simmons produced three goals and two assists and shot the ball 25 times, including 13 on goal.
Tulsa will kick off the new season on Thursday, Aug. 15, with a 6 p.m. showdown against Central Arkansas at the Hurricane Soccer Stadium.
