This is the inaugural edition of Moore from the Chair, a quarterly update of news and notes for our generous supporters.
It has been an exciting fall to kick off yet another great year at The University of Tulsa! I want to thank you for your continued passion and support of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Your energy in the stands, engagement on campus, and commitment to TU Athletics make a tremendous impact every day.
Homecoming Celebration
Homecoming is right around the corner, and we can't wait to welcome our alumni, donors, and fans back to campus for a special weekend of celebration. It will be a memorable few days filled with campus events — including home matches for volleyball, men's soccer and our Homecoming football game. A Night of Legends
This fall, we hosted the Tulsa Football Night of Legends at Southern Hills Country Club — an unforgettable evening featuring more than 20 Tulsa Football greats, including former All-Americans, NFL standouts, and our two living Pro Football Hall of Famers, Drew Pearson and Steve Largent. It was a night filled with fun, friendship, and Golden Hurricane pride.
Golden Hurricane Volleyball Success
Our Golden Hurricane Volleyball program is off to a record-setting start! When the first RPI rankings were released, Tulsa earned a program-best ranking of 43 — a testament to the team's hard work and challenging schedule. As of Oct. 16th, the team has tallied a 15-3 record with wins over Oklahoma, Arkansas, and their first victory at Wichita State since 1980.

With Volleyball thriving, basketball season is just around the corner — and we need your help in making the Reynolds Center one of the toughest home courts in the American Conference. Michael D. Case Tennis Center
Earlier this year, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) named the Michael D. Case Tennis Center as one of the top facilities in the nation. We are deeply grateful to Mike and Pat Case for their continued generosity and dedication to The University of Tulsa.
Always Getting Better
As a department, we remain dedicated to the Tulsa Athletics Strategic Plan, with a strong focus on developing our student-athletes, coaches and staff. Click here to view. Through initiatives like the Tulsa Athletics Leadership Program, led by national leadership experts, we're investing in professional growth for our employees and creating opportunities that empower our teams to reach their full potential.
Bubba Cunningham Recognition
And leadership and professional development for our staff and coaches begins with me as I can always improve — and it's something I value deeply. Earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending and presenting at the Collegiate Athletics Leadership Symposium (CALS), widely recognized as the premier event for college athletics administrators. We take great pride in CALS' Tulsa roots — founded in 2011 by former TU Athletics Director Bubba Cunningham and Tulsan Will Reece; with the inaugural event taking place in Tulsa. At this year's symposium, Bubba was recognized for his vision and lasting impact on the industry. We are honored that The University of Tulsa continues to be part of this remarkable legacy.
To our fans, alumni, and supporters — thank you. Your energy, encouragement, and belief in our mission to develop people and inspire community through championship athletics continue to drive us forward.
