
Humphrey Finishes Eighth, Men Place Fourth at Midwest Regional

STILLWATER, OKLA. — The Tulsa cross country team saw Evyn Humphrey finish eighth while the men's team placed fourth overall at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Okla. on Friday.
Humphrey worked her way up through the field to clock in with a final time of 20:30.6 in the 6K race. The sophomore is up for contention for an at-large bid in next weekend's NCAA Championship race as one of the highest finishing individuals. Following her was Sara Morefield (44th, 21:36.4), Kathryn Koonts (21:46.7), Matilda Laidlaw (22:08.9), and Robyn Kowalski (22:31.5). As a team the Golden Hurricane finished ninth with 297 points.
The men ran in a tight group to finish fourth with 117 points, with all five scorers finishing within 12 spots of each other. Shay McEvoy led the way in 19th with a time of 30:51.6, closely followed by Ben Brown in 20th at 30:52.4. Levi Rowan was 23rd at 30:54.7 while Charlie Krasnoff was 24th with a time of 30:56.4. Luke Birdseye rounded out the scorers with a time of 31:16.9.
The women's race was won by host Oklahoma State with 55 points, followed by Northwestern's 86 points to clinch a spot in next weekend's championships. Isca Chelangat was the women's regional champion, with the freshman crossing the finish line with a time of 19:48.4.
Oklahoma State also claimed the team title on the men's side with 38 points, barely beating out Iowa State's 41 points. OSU's Denis Kipngetich was the men's individual champ with a time of 29:42.8. Tulsa was fourth, also behind Oklahoma's 109 points.
The full field of the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships will be announced tomorrow at 4 p.m. CT.
