IRVING, Texas — After a stellar showing through the first two games of the year, Tulsa senior Jordan Frederick has been named the first American Conference Offensive Player of the Week of the 2025 season, the league announced Monday.
A forward from Bixby, Okla., Frederick helped lead the Golden Hurricane to a 2-0 start to the season after a 2-1 victory at Central Arkansas and a 3-2 thriller in the regular-season home-opener against Stephen F. Austin. Frederick was in on both goals against UCA, assisting the opening score and netting the game-winner in the first half.
Then, Frederick led the charge for TU in the second half against SFA on Sunday. Down 2-0 with less than 30 minutes to play, Frederick kickstarted a furious comeback for the Golden Hurricane, sending in two of the three goals Tulsa utilized in a six-minute span to come back and win the ballgame. Through two games, Frederick has three goals and one assist for seven points, which ranks first in the American and sixth nationally.
The Tulsa women will be back in action on Thursday, August 21, as they take on Abilene Christian on the road. Then, they'll be back at the Hurricane Soccer Stadium on Sunday to face Oklahoma at 5:00 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the men's team, who will take on CSUN at 7:30.
