
Early Offense Not Enough as Tulsa Falls in Sunday Finale

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tulsa fell to Memphis in a closely contested game, 7–6, at the Tigers Softball Complex on Sunday.
Tulsa scored four runs in the second inning, highlighted by two doubles, but Memphis responded with a decisive four-run fifth inning, sealing the win.
Mackenzy Glenn delivered a strong performance, collecting three hits and driving in a run. Claira Skaggs added two doubles and two RBI, contributing significantly to the scoring. Annika Dill scored one run and recorded a hit in her four plate appearances. Daeya Moses posted two RBI with a sacrifice fly and a hit.
Tulsa opened the game with an early advantage, scoring twice in the first inning. Skaggs doubled to left field, and a throwing error allowed Amber Turner to reach base and advance the runners. Moses drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, followed by Glenn's RBI single, bringing the score to 2-0. Memphis responded with two runs of its own, tying the game at 2-2 after the first inning.
In the second inning, Tulsa expanded its lead with four runs. Dill singled, and Preslee Ray reached base on a fielder's choice. Faith Russell's sacrifice fly brought in a run, and Skaggs' double down the right field line added two more runs. Moses capped the inning with an RBI single, pushing the score to 6-2.
Memphis narrowed the gap in the third inning, scoring one run to make it 6–3. The fifth inning saw Memphis take the lead with a four-run surge. Faith Brown hit a two-run home run, and Jasmine Mack followed with another two-run homer, bringing the score to 7–6 in favor of Memphis.
Despite Tulsa's efforts in the remaining innings, the score remained unchanged. Memphis secured the victory with a final score of 7–6.
Tulsa is back on the road next week to face Wichita State in a three-game series beginning on Thursday.
