Moore’s 10 Strikeouts Not Enough in Weekend Finale

TULSA, Okla. — Maura Moore struck out 10 batters and Tulsa's offense made a late rally but it wasn't enough as they fell 3-1 on Sunday to UTSA.
Moore recorded a complete game with 10 strikeouts over seven innings, allowing just two earned runs. Claira Skaggs posted a double, scoring one run and drawing a walk in her three plate appearances. Emma Vickrey tallied one hit and one RBI, contributing with a walk as well. Madison Garcia added a hit in her three plate appearances, grounding out once and flying out once.
UTSA took an early lead in the first inning with a solo home run by Taryn Madlock to deep center field. The inning concluded with UTSA leading 1-0.
Tulsa remained scoreless through the fourth inning, while UTSA extended its lead. In the fourth, Sabrina Wick singled, and Makayla Madrid doubled to drive in a run. Madrid later scored on a muffed throw, increasing the Roadrunners' advantage to 3-0.
Tulsa got on the board in the sixth inning. Skaggs doubled, advanced on a sacrifice bunt, and scored on Vickrey's single up the middle. The inning ended with UTSA still ahead, 3-1.
Tulsa heads to Norman for a midweek game with Oklahoma on Wednesday.
