
Moore’s Dominant Pitching, Cole’s Home Run Lead Tulsa to Series Win Over UAB

TULSA, Okla. — Maura Moore pitched her second gem of the weekend while Maci Cole hit a three-run home run in the first inning as Tulsa won its third out of four American Conference series in a 5-1 win over UAB on Sunday.
Cole delivered a powerful performance with a home run and three RBI. Moore pitched a complete game, allowing only one earned run while striking out six. Annika Dill contributed two hits and scored a run while Claira Skaggs also added two hits and crossed home plate once, further bolstering the team's offense.
Tulsa opened the game strong in the first inning. Skaggs singled, followed by Amber Turner's infield single, setting the stage for Cole's three-run homer to deep center field, scoring Skaggs and Turner. Tulsa led 3–0 at the end of the first inning.
In the second inning, Dill singled and advanced to third on Preslee Ray's double. Madison Garcia hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Dill to score. Mackenzy Glenn grounded out, bringing home Ray. Tulsa extended its lead to 5–0 by the end of the second inning.
UAB responded in the fourth inning. Madeline Flammia and Antonia Henderson singled, and Kaily Collett's ground out allowed Flammia to score, bringing the score to 5–1.
The remaining innings were scoreless for both teams. Tulsa maintained its advantage, winning the game with a final score of 5–1.
Tulsa hosts Missouri State in a midweek game before hitting the road to face Florida Atlantic.
