Men’s Golf Sits 11th After Opening Day of Vuori Invitational

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Tulsa men's golf team sits in 11th place following Monday's opening two rounds of the Vuori Invitational at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club.
Arkansas holds the clubhouse lead at even-par 568, four strokes ahead of Colorado. Oregon is third at seven-over par, followed by BYU at nine-over.
Play was suspended due to darkness before several players in the field completed the second round. The final round will follow the completion of suspended play. To view the complete leaderboard, click here.
Tulsa carded rounds of 288 and 300 for a 36-hole score of 588 (+20) on the par-71, 7,003-yard course. The Golden Hurricane opened the tournament with a four-over-par round and was tied for fifth place before recording a 16-over score in the afternoon.
Abe Bignell leads Tulsa in a tie for 16th place at three-over-par 145. Bignell posted rounds of 72 and 73 and is seven strokes behind the individual leaders.
C.J. Phillips is tied for 33rd place at five-over-par 147 following rounds of 71 and 76. Minas Manias carded consecutive rounds of 74 and is tied for 45th place at six-over-par 148.
Matthew Wilson, who finished second in Tulsa's season-opening tournament last week, is tied for 52nd place with a seven-over-par score of 149. Wilson followed an opening-round 72 with a 77 in the afternoon.
Thomas Herholtz recorded rounds of 73 and 77 and is tied for 56th place at eight-over-par 150. Competing as an individual, Reuben Harvey posted consecutive rounds of 78 for a 14-over-par total of 156.
Tulsa will play with San Jose State and Colorado State in the final round. They will tee off hole 1 starting at 10:50 a.m. CT and follow every ten minutes.
