Schutte led the match in shots with three.
After Tulsa's tie with East Carolina, Castleberry pointed to a match that struggled to settle into rhythm, saying, "Both teams were so eager to win this game, we got in the rhythm of playing long balls and being disjointed, but each team had good moments." Castleberry continued: "[We need to] be more intentional and realize that we only have a certain amount of chances and we need to finish those chances because it will help us win games and not fight as hard as we needed to fight in the second half."
Tulsa is 4-3-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play. East Carolina is 1-2-6 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play.
Up next, Tulsa hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. at Hurricane Soccer Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
