Jevon Bowman was named as an assistant director for athletic performance at The University of Tulsa in January 2018. Bowman came to Tulsa following eight years as the University of South Dakota’s head strength and conditioning coach.
At USD, Bowman oversaw all sports in the area of strength & conditioning, while working primarily with the sports of football and women’s basketball.
A 2008 graduate of South Dakota, Bowman helped start the strength program at USD in the spring of 2008 and was the interim strength coach for the summer of 2009. He served as an assistant football coach in 2009-10 at South Dakota, before taking over as head strength & conditioning coach in 2010.
A native of Rapid City, S.D., Bowman played for the Coyote football team from 2004-07 and was a part of the 2005 North Central Conference championship team.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education, health and coaching in 2008, and received his master’s in exercise science and athletic administration in 2010, also from South Dakota.
