Nick Ast joined The University of Tulsa football team prior to the 2024 season as an offensive graduate assistant coach.

Ast came to Tulsa after one season as an offensive graduate assistant coach at UTEP, helping coach the quarterbacks. Before that, he completed his final year of eligibility with the Miners in 2021 as a starting receiver.

He spent his first four seasons of college playing quarterback and special teams at Kansas State. Ast was named to the Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll for three years and was a three-time first-team all-Big 12 Academic selection. At UTEP, Ast earned Conference USA Academic Honor Roll accolades in his one season with the Miners.

Ast earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Kansas State in 2020 and a master’s in leadership studies from UTEP in December 2022.
