Tyrell Everett joined the Tulsa football coaching staff in July 2021 as defensive graduate assistant.
 
Everett comes to Tulsa from Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, where he spent one season as defensive line coach. Before that, Everett was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Akron in 2019.
 
He spent the 2018 campaign on the West Florida coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach working with the UWF running backs. The group combined to average a school-record 132.3 yards per game on the ground. Junior Chris Schwarz rushed for 819 yards on 139 carries and a 74.5 yards per game average en route to becoming the first all-conference running back in program history when he earned second team honors by the league's coaches.

Before that, Everett spent one year as the running backs coach at Butler Community College.

Everett graduated with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Physical Education/Health from Baker University in 2016.
