During his tenure, Tulsa has recorded a 32-11-5 overall record. Robles has also been instrumental in coaching 14 student-athletes to American Athletic Conference all-conference honors, four to all-rookie team accolades and eight to all-tournament team honors.
Tulsa had a 10-5-2 mark, including three wins over top-25 opponents, and made its 13th appearance in the NCAA Championship, advancing to the third round during the 2022 campaign. Mariano Fazio and Alex Meinhard were both named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List, Fazio was named as a 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s All-America third team honoree and Fazio, Alex Lopez, Meinhard and Henry Sach picked up United Soccer Coaches all-East Region honors. For the American Athletic Conference, Fazio was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Lopez was tabbed as the Goalkeeper of the Year, both for the second-straight season. Fazio, Lopez, Meinhard and Sach earned first-team all-conference accolades and Wes Bottenburg was selected to the all-rookie team.
In 2021, TU tied program-bests of 16 wins and a No. 2 national ranking, claimed The American regular season and tournament titles, and went on to advance to the NCAA Championship third round. Robles helped coach Mariano Fazio to 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s All-America third team honors, while Alex Lopez was named the 2021 Top Drawer Soccer Freshman of the Year, and five players were tabbed to the United Soccer Coaches all-east region teams. The Tulsa men’s soccer team claimed every American Athletic Conference honor possible in 2021, including Offensive Player of the Year (Alex Meinhard), Defensive Player of the Year (Mariano Fazio), Midfielder of the Year (Henry Sach), Goalkeeper of the Year (Alex Lopez), Rookie of the Year (Alex Lopez), Coaching Staff of the Year (Tulsa) and Team Fair Play Award (Tulsa). A year earlier, Robles helped coach The American Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year (Alex Meinhard), and picked up Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
The fall 2020 men’s soccer season was postponed until winter/spring 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the shortened season TU only played American Athletic Conference games prior to The American Championship and posted a 6-4-2 record for a second-place finish in the league. Alex Meinhard was named The American Offensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and picked up all-conference and all-Rookie team accolades. Chase Bromstedt, Mariano Fazio and Henry Sach were all selected to the all-conference second team, Malik Henry-Scott was an all-Rookie team honoree, and Bromstedt, Chase Cervantes and Alvaro Torrijos were all-tournament team selections.
Robles came to Tulsa after serving for three seasons (2017-19) at Florida Atlantic, where he was responsible for recruiting, scouting, and coaching the midfield and defensive players. In 2019, the Owls improved on back-to-back two-win seasons with seven victories, including wins over No. 15 Marshall and No. 17 James Madison, and qualified for the Conference USA Championship for the first time in school history.
Prior to FAU, Robles served as an assistant coach at USF for three seasons (2014-16), during which time the Bulls made back-to-back American Athletic Conference championship game appearances (2015 and 2016), claimed The American tournament title in 2016, was named The American Coaching Staff of the Year in 2016, and made an NCAA Tournament appearance twice.
Robles previously coached at Tyler Junior College (2012-13), where he helped the Apaches to a 2012 National Championship, as well as regional and district championships in 2012 and 2013.
Robles spent the 2011 season as an assistant coach at Bryan College in Tennessee. He has assisted with FAU soccer camps, Success in Soccer Camps and US College Soccer ID Camps, as well as Team Boca, Fish Hawk and Azzuri football clubs throughout his career.
Robles began his playing career at Tyler JC in 2006, earning all-region accolades twice. He then attended Belhaven University where he was a two-year team captain, earned Gulf Coast Athletic Conference all-conference honors twice, and helped his team advance to the NAIA Tournament as a senior.
Robles, who holds a USSF D License, earned his bachelor’s degree in sports administration from Belhaven University in 2011.
