Karen Gober joined The University of Tulsa athletic department as a Learning Specialist in the office of academic and student services in July 2017, and was promoted to Director of Educational Services in May 2019 and became the Assistant Athletics Director for Student Success in October 2022.

Gober came to Tulsa following four years at the University of Arkansas, where she served in various capacities as tutor coordinator, office administrator, tutor and success coach for the office of student-athlete success.

Previously, Gober spent two years as a teaching assistant in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Arkansas, while pursuing her master’s degree in sociology. Before that, she worked as a legal assistant at the Fidelity National Title Insurance Company for 13 years.

Gober received her bachelor’s degree in 2011 and her master’s in 2014, both in sociology and both from the University of Arkansas.
