IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Reggie Evans scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for his fifth double-double in as many games this year as Iowa beat Tulsa 66-65 Saturday in the Hawkeye Challenge championship.

Luke Recker and Ryan Hogan each scored 13 points for Iowa (5-0), which won its 18th tourney title in 19 tries. David Shelton finished with 14 points for Tulsa (4-2), which trailed early and rallied in the opening minutes of the second half before faltering.

Marcus Hill added 11 points and Dante Swanson and Greg Harrington 10 each for the Golden Hurricane.

The Hawkeyes were able to get the Golden Hurricane in early foul trouble - three players fouled out - and cash in from the free throw line. Iowa made 24 of 32 from the line while Tulsa shot just nine free throws, making only three.

Evans, who had a career-high 27 points and 12 rebounds in a first round win over Chattanooga, hit six of 11 shots and was 8-of-12 from the free throw line.

Tulsa scored 12 of the first 14 points in the second half to turn a 33-28 deficit into a 40-35 lead with 16:44 to play.

Iowa regained the lead, 52-51, on Brody Boyd's 3-pointer at the 8:41 mark but could never pull more than five points ahead.

Harrington, a 95.2 percent free throw shooter, had a chance to tie the game but missed one of two free throws to allow the Hawkeyes to cling to a 66-65 lead. Shelton, however, got the rebound to keep Tulsa alive.

After a Golden Hurricane timeout, Antonio Reed lost his dribble and Oliver got the loose ball with 2.9 seconds left and Tulsa was unable to foul before time expired.

The Hawkeyes improved to 37-1 in their tournament. Their only loss was a 66-62 first round setback to eventual champion Alabama-Birmingham in 1985
