Tulsa's Aristodemo, Twellman Receive All-Region Honors

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa senior Robbie Aristodemo has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Midwest Region Second Team, while TU sophomore Julie Twellman was tabbed to the Soccer Buzz Central Region Third Team. Aristodemo was also selected to play in the Sixth Annual Umbro Select All-Star Classic.
A two-time member of the all-region team, Aristodemo was a first-team performer as a junior in 1998. This past season, his all-Missouri Valley Conference first team selection marked the first time in school history a Tulsa player received all-conference first team honors for four straight seasons. Prior to the 2000 campaign, Aristodemo, a native of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, was a three-time member of the Western Athletic Conference first team (1996, 1997, and 1998). During the 2000 campaign, he started all 19 games and was second on the team in goals (7) and scoring (18 and fourth in assists (4). He completed his stellar career fourth on TU's career assists list with 22 and 10th among the school's all-time scoring leaders with 62 points.
Aristodemo has also been selected to compete among the best seniors from around United States at the Sixth Annual Umbro Select All-Star Classic, Feb. 1-4, 2001, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Aristodemo will compete as a midfielder on the West squad, which will battle the East Squad. The college all-star game will played at Lockhart Stadium (20,000). Aristodemo is the first player in school history to represent Tulsa at the Umbro Select All-Star Classic.
Twellman, who hails from Columbia, Mo., is a two-time member of the all-region team. Last season, she was named to the Central Region all-freshman team. This season, she led Tulsa in scoring for the second straight year. She completed her sophomore campaign with 11 goals and four assists for 26 points. In just under two seasons, Twellman already ranks ninth on the school's chart for goals scored with 20 and 11th among TU's career scoring leaders with 49 points. Twellman is also a two-time member to the Western Athletic Conference second team. She has started 30 of 34 career games played.
