Senior point guard Tony Heard averages 9.7 points, 3.4 assists
and 1.5 steals this season in 28.4 minutes of
playing time, while starting all 35 games. He is
second on the team in assists, steals and
three-point field goal percentage.
? In the regular
season finale, Heard tallied career-bests of 24
points and 6 rebounds against SMU. With Tulsa
trailing 63-60 near the end of regulation, Heard
knocked in a three-pointer from the right corner
to tie the score at 63 at the buzzer. He
connected on 7-of-14 from the field and 5-of-5
from three-point range in the game.
? His previous
career-high also came this year with 19 points
against Creighton, while adding 4 assists, 3
steals and 3 rebounds. Heard has 17 double-figure
scoring games this season, and has led the team
in assists in 11 contests and scoring four times.
? In the final five
regular season games, Heard averaged 15.4 points,
4.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He shot .451 from
the field and .459 from three-point range in
those final five regular season contests, and in
the final three of those games shot .516 from the
field (16-of-31) and .545 from three-point range
(12-of-22). However, in the three WAC Tournament
games, Heard averaged just 5.0 points while
shooting .273 from the field (6-of-22).

Tournament first round game against UNLV, and
added 10 points and 4 assists against Cincinnati
in the second round. He is averaging 12.0 points
and 5.0 assists in two NCAA Tournament games this

team-best 17 points and 5 rebounds against UTEP
(2-26-00). Heard became a solid defender for the
Hurricane and his defensive efforts were
recognized by the league's coaches, as Heard was
named to the WAC's all-defensive team this
season, joining teammate Tony Heard on the squad.
