???Senior middle distance runner Dwight Davis (Lenexa, Kan.) owns the fifth fastest time in the NCAA for the 1,500m, qualifying him for the 2000 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Duke University in Durham, N.C. The Championships begin next week on Wednesday, May 31, continuing through to Saturday, June 3.
???Davis became the first Golden Hurricane runner to break the four-minute barrier in the mile run on April 16th at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays, with a 3:59.29. He would later provisionally qualify in the 1,500m with a time of 3:44.10 at the Cardinal Qualifier. However, when his mile time was converted to a 1,500m time, it was an automatic qualifying time of 3:41.25.
???This is the second national championship for Davis this year as he also qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing fifth. Davis also qualified for both the indoor and outdoor championships.
