Tulsa Golfers Finish Second at the Kiawah Island Invitational

Kiawah Island, South Carolina - In the first fall event, the Tulsa men's golf team placed second in the 15-team field at the Cleveland Golf Kiawah Island Invitational at the Osprey Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
The Hurricane entered the day with a four-shot lead after shooting 292 and 286 on the first day of competition, however, Alabama scored the tournament's best round with an eight-under par 280 today for a three-round 869 to capture a two-stroke victory over Tulsa. The Hurricane carded a final round 293 for a 54-hole total of 871.
Junior Kevin Henry had his career-best performance for the Hurricane with a third-place finish turning in rounds of 75-68-73 for an even-par 216. He led three other Tulsa golfers among the top-15 finishers in the tournament. A pair of freshmen, Logan Goettsch and David Inglis, finished in a tie for seventh place with a two-over par 218. Goettsch shot a final round 73 to go with his earlier scores of 73-72, while Inglis carded a two-under par 70 today after rounds of 75-73.
Sophomore transfer Billy Lowry, who was tied for first place heading into the final round with a 36-hole total of 142, carded a 77 today to finish in 13th place with a score of 219.
Rounding out the top-five teams were LSU (875), College of Charleston (877) and Mississippi State (884).
The Hurricane is in action next at the Husky Invitational in Seattle, Washington, September 25-26.
