Tulsa Beats Texas Christian 82-66

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Kevin Johnson scored a season-high 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Tulsa over Texas Christian, 82-66 in Western Athletic Conference action Wednesday night.
Johnson also blocked a team-leading eight shots as Tulsa (11-6, 2-2) won its sixth straight over conference rival TCU (13-5, 3-2).
Derrick Davenport led the Horned Frogs with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
David Shelton scored 14 for Tulsa and Marcus Hill had 12.
Tulsa led 37-30 at the end of the first half with 18 Hurricane points coming from outside the arc, including two apiece from Shelton and Jason Parker. Hill hit two from long-range during the game.
TCU closed to 39-38 with Davenport's bucket at 17:53 in the second half but Tulsa's defense toughened.
The Hurricane widened the lead to 17 points after Johnson hit two free throws with 4:46 left to put the Hurricane up 74-57. Johnson hit two more shots in the closing minutes.
