Tulsa Rallies Past UTEP, 87-75

El PASO, Texas (AP) - Greg Harrington scored 18 points and handed out a game-high six assists to help lead Tulsa to an 87-75 win over Texas-El Paso on Saturday night.
Harrington, who went 4-of-6 from the 3-point line, also led Tulsa (12-6, 3-2 WAC) with three steals.
UTEP (14-2, 3-1) took its biggest lead of the game, 54-49, with 10:36 left in the second half. Tulsa responded by outscoring the Miners 30-12 over the next 8 minutes to take a commanding 79-66 lead with 2:23 remaining in the game.
Marcus Hill scored 16 points for the Hurricane. Antonio Reed and Kevin Johnson scored 14 points apiece and David Shelton added 10. Charlie Davis scored only four points but pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
Tulsa outrebounded UTEP 44-31 with 20 of those coming on the offensive end of the court. The Hurricane scored 22 second-chance points while the Miners scored only five.
Brandon Wolfram led UTEP with 24 points but only hit six of his 10 free throw attempts and turned the ball over six times. Eugene Costello scored 16 points and had four assists. Leonard Owens followed with 11 points and Brian Stewart added 10.
Stewart led the Miners with seven rebounds.
Tulsa went on a 15-3 run to take a 25-14 lead with 8:35 left in the first half. UTEP closed the last 5:50 of the half with a 16-8 run of its own to cut the Hurricane's halftime lead to 37-34.
