TU Golfers in Second Place at Duke Golf Classic

Durham, NC - The University of Tulsa men's golf team is in second place after one round at the Duke Golf Classic. The Hurricane scored an 11-over par 299, and trail first-place Virginia Tech by six strokes at the par 72, 7,045-yard Duke Golf Club in Durham, N.C. The Hokies scored a five-over par 293.
The tournament's second round was stopped due to inclement weather and is scheduled to be completed on Monday along with the event's third and final round.
For the Hurricane, sophomore David Inglis carded a one-over par 73 to place ninth after the first 18 holes, while senior Kevin Henry and sophomore Chris Noel each finished with two-over par 74s on Sunday, and sit in an eight-way tie for 13th place. Sophomore Neil Trimm scored a 78 on the first day and is tied for 46th place, while junior Billy Lowry scored an 81.
Eric Jorgensen of Michigan State holds the individual lead after shooting a three-under par 69.
Rounding out the teams are: Augusta State (300), Georgia Southern (300), Virginia (302), Michigan State (302), Minnesota (303), Toledo (304), Furman (305), Michigan (306), SMU (306), Duke (307), Florida Southern (308), Coastal Carolina (309), North Carolina (310), Virginia Commonwealth (313), East Tennessee State (313) and Kent State (315).
