TU Men's Soccer to Host Eastern Illinois This Sunday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's soccer team concludes a five-game homestand this Sunday at 2:35 p.m. when the Golden Hurricane hosts Eastern Illinois in Missouri Valley Conference play at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. Admission to the event is free.
Tulsa enters the game 7-8 overall and 2-4 in MVC games, while Eastern Illinois is 4-9 overall and 0-6 in league contests. TU has lost its last two games, both to nationally ranked teams, while Eastern Illinois is winless in conference play.
Sunday is "Senior Day" as the Eastern Illinois contest also marks the final home game of the regular season for the Hurricane. Prior to the game, Tulsa will honor this year's senior class of Giancarlo Barzotti, Brent Bayouth and Chris Spears
Bayouth is a two-year letterwinner and native of nearby Sapulpa, who transferred to Tulsa prior to the 2000 campaign. A management major, he has played in 31 games with five starts and has scored six goals as a Hurricane for 12 points.
Barzotti is a four-year letterwinner from Yorba Linda, Calif., who has started 51 of 59 games played for the Golden Hurricane. He departs TU with one goal and one assist for three career points. This international business major was a two-time member of the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team last season. He was also named to the TU Athletic Director's Honor Roll three times.
Spears, native of Tulsa, is a four-year letterwinner and starter. He leaves TU with 10 goals and 11 assists for 31 points and has started 57 of 69 games played. Last season, he was the Golden Hurricane's assists leader season with seven. Spears is majoring in management.
