TU Men's Soccer Stumbles Against Western Kentucky, 2-1

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Western Kentucky scored two goals in the first 16 minutes of the second half and held Tulsa to just one goal for the game to capture a 2-1 victory of the Golden Hurricane in Missouri Valley Conference action in Bowling Green, Ky.
With the loss, Tulsa falls to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in MVC play. The Hurricane has suffered back-to-back losses to begin league play. Western Kentucky improves to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in conference games.
After a scoreless first half, Western Kentucky's Ben Buerger put the Hilltoppers on the board when he converted a penalty kick into a WKU goal at 51:17. Western Kentucky struck again 10 minutes later when Tawanda Chitapa tallied a score at the 61:37 minute mark. Teammate Kyle Wuchterl was credited with the assist on the goal.
Tulsa recorded its lone goal at 68:54 when junior Derek Meyers notched his first goal of the season to pull the Hurricane to within a point. Sophomore Matt Yeager picked up the assist on Meyers' goal. But Tulsa never found the back of the net again and fell, 2-1.
